A WOMAN OF NO IMPORTANCE from Belmont Theatre Company

The upper classes have gathered for a weekend house party at Lady Hunstanton’s country estate. The wildly attractive Lord Illingworth is free to show off his seduction skills. The ladies, including the young American, Hester Worsley, must hide their lust for him. When it’s announced that Gerald Arbuthnot has been appointed as Illingworth’s secretary, his mother’s scandalous secret threatens to ruin her son’s success. This wonderful play is a testimony of Wilde’s wit and his brand of dark comedy, looking at English upper class society, with it’s subtle sentiment and an underlying theme regarding paternity. Bursting with dramatic irony, rhetoric strategies and humorous witticisms this is another not-to-missed production from the award winning Belmont Theatre Company. Performances: Weds 23rd October to Sat 26th October 2013 – 7.45pm each day plus a Saturday matinee at 2.45pm. Ticket Price: £12.00 standard, £10.50 concessions (seniors /under 16’s).
