Japanese Shonishin Paediatric Acupuncture is growing in popularity in the UK.  Originally developed in Japan in the 1600s adn kept a closely guarded secret for centuries, the techniques have now been taught and disseminated in the US and Europe as well as the UK.  Japanese shares many of the core principles and theories underlying Chinese Medicine, but the main difference is lightness of touch.  Tapping and stroking techniques are used rather than needles.  In children this is particularly welcome as they can enjoy this gentle, safe, non-threatening treatment to help them feel better.
