Disability and Ergonomic Assessments

For most people the start to full recuperation after an accident or illness is their return to work.  Life may be different but productive working is still possible.

Adapt-IT’s consultants can perform a full Disability Assessment and make recommendations on the workstation equipment and software necessary.

5.4 million working days were lost in sick leave due to repetitive strain injuries (RSI) last year alone (source TUC).  Ergonomic interventions are proven both to help prevent such injuries and to help sufferers return to work successfully.  The ergonomic approach to solving problems (such as RSI, carpal tunnel syndrome, back injuries and stress) emphasises a combination of safety, comfort and efficiency. Legislation now emphasises that ergonomics must be an essential aspect of health and safety in the workplace.

We can offer:
• Disability Assessments for individuals
• Access to Work Scheme assessments for disabled employees or staff requiring customised workplace conditions
• Professional Ergonomic assessments of individual workstations
• Advice to individual clients on choice of equipment and arrangement of work
• Training on any special equipment and/or software recommended • Training in computer workstation assessments to comply with the Health and Safety Regulations
• Advice to organisations on the ergonomic approach to risk management
