Rimor have recently supplied Ultra-Lightweight Air Shafts to the crisp packaging industry to solve both Health and Safety & Production issues. The Air Shafts Rimor supplied were a “lift on” type Air Shafts, which reduced shaft weights from the original bar & cone arrangement. The reduced weight of the Air Shafts meant the volume of bags on the reel was able to be increased, thus decreasing the number of changeovers required per shift. A shortened down time was also achieved on change-overs by using the Air Shafts, rather than manually adjusted cones. These changes allowed the company to optimise production capability with a short payback time. These Air Shafts are able to accept cardboard or plastic cores to address recycling demands
