Critical Illness Cover is often taken out for mortgage protection at the same time as life insurance.

However, often Critical Illness Cover (CIC) is chosen on cost - by just choosing the cheapest policy, even many advisers use this option on the basis, as if all policies are the same.

All these policies aren't the same. The minimum number of illnesses covered is 27, most cover between 30 and 39, but the longest list is over 150. And the missing illness can be quite importnant - all cover breast cancer, but what about "lumpectomy", all cover total and permenant blindness in both eyes, but what about 1 eye, or tunnel vision?

Expert, Independent advice can help you choose the best policy and for many people the difference in cost between 'normal' and 'best' can be very low.
