Our hogs are cooked in a confit oven; this cooks the pig very slowly and allows it to absorb all the juices making the meat moist succulent and full of flavour as well as the perfect crisp crackling. The machine can be used inside or outside, there is a glass panel so that guests can see the hog roast cooking and their tasty crackling they will be enjoying later on. The hog roast is served in a buffet style with our unique rustic display. The hog is cooked on site and it takes 6-8 hours for the hog to cook. The 'Fat Hog' roast package includes a whole succulent hog with complements (fresh breads, 10 tasty chutneys including home-made apple sauce, home-made stuffing and crispy crackling), that's all cooked by a professional chef and served by a waiter/waitress. We provide 4 vegetarian meals free of charge. There are also a range of salads and hot/cold potato dishes you can add at an additional cost. We can also provide other meats cooked in the same style and provide additional vegetarian options. High quality disposable cutlery is part of the price but you can hire crockery and cutlery from Fat Hog and Big Pan if you'd prefer. For weddings and other events we can also provide additional help with serving drinks, laying cutlery on tables and hand-made salt and pepper pots for tables. We also offer additional canap├ęs, starters, desserts and evening buffet menus. We bring our own gazebos, tables and equipment to freshly cook and serve the food. As mobile event caterers we do not require a kitchen, all we need is access to a 13 AMP power supply and if possible access to cold running water.
