The Summer has arrived and the Home Boarding season is underway. We have quite a few new dogs boarding with us this Summer, most of which are having a short trial before their owners go away abroad later in the year. Our first trial was with a highly energetic 2 yr Cockerpoo. He did some long lead practice to test his recall, which is very good. I expect that he will be able to do some off lead walks when he stays with us. He is highly energetic, and we will work on reducing his energy level in the house, as he is very bouncy and barks a bit. Lovely boy though, very loving and good natured. We have had an experienced 11yr Vizsla stay, she was no trouble at all. She knows the ropes and is really easy to manage, a lovely gentle girl. We have also had a trial with a 2 yr Working Cocker, he was great. Recall is brilliant, and is very calm and settled in the house. He can stay any time! We just said goodbye to our 3 English Toy Terriers having trial part 1 for their 6 week stay in 2016. High energy dogs but very good natured. We will be working on reducing their energy in the house, as they bark at everything!!! Lots of long walks for them I think, and some 'back to basic' training on home etiquette. Lovely little characters though. Weimaraners next, and 6 month old puppies soon after. I am most looking forward to our Greyhound cross Whippet lad staying, he is really obedient and a real couch potato! It is going to be a busy Summer... How exciting!
