provides us with an opportunity to achieve real change in our lives. Although
we cannot alter what has already happened to us we can through counselling, improve
our understanding of the past, gain insight into the present and take greater
control of the future
am experienced accredited counsellor trained in a number of different
approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Psychodynamic Counselling
and Brief Solution Focussed Therapy. I
work with clients to provide professional support and encouragement to help each
individual bring about lasting change.
I encourage clients to take that extra step forward to successfully deal
with the difficult problems in their lives.
I will work with clients on a range of personal issues including
anxiety, anger management, stress, depression, loss of self esteem, eating
disorders, abuse, bullying, panic attacks, relationship issues and dealing with
loss. I will also support clients who are dealing with difficult issues within
organisations and the work place.
It is important that clients are able to explore what will often be
difficult and sensitive issues within a secure confidential environment where
they feel valued and not judged. I work with clients for either a fixed number
of sessions or on an open ended basis. An important part of this work is our
initial informal discussion about which technique and which way of working will
best fit with the needs of each individual client.
I work under the BACP Code of Ethics to provide counselling
services which are supportive and which recognises the challenges clients are
facing. I recognise the importance of providing a safe therapeutic environment
with secure boundaries which will allow clients to work in the way which is
most helpful to them.
