Workplace Monitoring of hazardous substances, enables compliance with COSHH regulation 10: The employer shall ensure that the exposure of employees to substances hazardous to health is monitored in accordance with a suitable procedure. Persons who may be exposed to substances hazardous to health shall be provided with suitable information, instruction and training on the risks involved and the means for ensuring adequate control, of their exposure.

R & B Industrial will appoint a competent COSHH/NOISE Assessor, who is responsible for: i) Obtaining all relevant process details, substance data and test results required for workplace monitoring. ii) Carrying out the monitoring to recognised methods & procedures; HSE method (MDHS) or alternatively OSHA, NIOSH or EPA, depending upon substance/concentration etc. (ii) Assessing the data and test results obtained.
i) 8 hour Time weighted averaging will be calculated/assessed. In addition to total/respirable exposure levels, an analysis can also be made for individual substances, fumes, gases present etc; prices depend upon analysis method. ii) Short term indicative exposure (15min) monitoring is performed using a range of methods and equipment. For instance: FID real time monitoring for VOC's, Isocyanates using Sure Spot testing cards,Real-time aerosol ‘dust’ monitor, for both total & respirable dust.
