Coastal wildlife cruises along the Llyn Peninsula, observing seabirds, seals, porpoises and dolphins
Shearwater" Coastal Cruises
holidays, tourist information, cruises
We cruise to offshore islands, where we spend our time simply watching nature, using the very stable and maneuvrable "Shearwater". When anything of interest attracts our attention, we simply stop and observe - even taking photographs ourselves, after all, it is our hobby. We also undertake dolphin monitoring and Photo-ID tasks on behalf of the Seawatch Foundation, a charitable body who monitor cetaceans around the coast of the UK.
We are regularly involved in TV and Radio documentary work, our most notable being involved in the production of a programme in the "Coast" series for BBC2, which examined Leatherback Turtles , which are native species to this particular part of the UK coastline.
We also undertake scuba diving charters, but only for clubs and groups who wish to charter the whole of the boat for full diving days.
"Shearwater" being designed specifically for our work, has various areas on which passengers may move around, or go from one area to another during the cruise. We have a large seating area on the stern deck, a similar area above on the fly-deck, a forward viewing platform, accessible by stairs from the lounge and then the lounge itself, which enables passengers, if the wish, to sit on comfortable sofas, watching the scenery outside through the large picture windows. We also have an underwater TV camera which enables people to actually watch life underwater, whilst enjoying their complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits. Our large, disabled friendly toilet compartment has an electric flushing toilet and hot and cold running water in the wash-basins.
