Street Tough Challenge from Balmoral Community Centre

By: Balmoral Community Centre  23/05/2009

Street Tough is the Balmoral Centre's innovative project to engage young people aged 8-18 years in exercise and to promote healthy eating, fighting obesity and keeping fit while having great fun.  See our video presentation on and see the youngsters in action.  It's an opportunity for them to get together, make friends, learn how to make healthy lifestyle choices, develop team spirit and leadership skills, and boost their self-confidence.  Under the leadership of excellent positive male role models in local legends Scott Tilson and Pat O'Keeffe, they have a great cardio workout playing brilliant games, and enjoy the discipline of kickboxing.  They also have a healthy hot meal of their choice ... and the chance to enjoy a sociable meal with their friends!  Sessions last from 4:30 till 7 pm every Monday term-time.  Donations are requested and gratefully received, but there is no set charge.

The Street Tough Sports and Athletics Club provides free professional tuition in all track and field sports, as well as ball skills for football etc, on Wednesdays term-time from 4:30 till 5:30, on the school field next door to the Balmoral Centre (Milton Hall School).  No donations requested ... this session is completely free.

For more details, please contact the Centre's inquiry line on 03788 171800 and speak to Trisha.

Street Tough is proud to be a Change4Life partner with the Department of Health, helping kids get fit for life.
