Our Coping system provides an economical and easily installed finish to parapet and perimeter walls. Our Coping is factory finished and dry jointed, and a full range of fittings and accessories is available.

Composition and Manufacture

Copings are fabricated from 1.5mm thick aluminium alloy sheet. Fixing straps are pressed 3mm aluminium with extruded EPDM seals bonded to the top surface. All fabricated fittings (90° corners, irregular corners, stop ends, closed ends, upstands, 90° tee junctions) are mitred, welded and have a smooth finish on the front face.

Alumasc is approved to BS EN ISO 9001: 1994 – Registration Nos Q 06401 and FM 35898.

The Raincote colour range has been chosen to complement both traditional and modern building styles and materials. Oure Coping is supplied to specifier choice of polyester colours. Alumasc hold British Board of Agrément certification no. 86/1671 for a range of polyester colours which is being constantly reviewed.

Aluminium should be protected from materials which may cause electrolytic corrosion. In cases of doubt consult TFC Technical Services.

In normal atmospheric conditions the range will have a low maintenance life well in excess of 25 years. The material thickness and fixing mechanism gives excellent rigidity. The coping system is entirely weatherproof. The fixing mechanism involves no penetration of the coping and joints are sealed by the protected EPDM seal system.

Lightning Conductivity

Aluminium is a suitable material for use as a lightning conductor. Alumasc Lightning Link can be supplied for fitting to adjacent sections to provide good electrical conductivity in accordance with BS 6651.

Thermal Movement

Coefficient of linear thermal expansion is 23 x 10

-6 per °C. A gap of 2–3mm should be left between coping sections to accommodate thermal expansion.
