This is 2 day benchmark qualifiaction for anyone who intends to carry out the instrument testing of electrical equipment, also known as Portable Appliance Testing. The electricity at work Regulations 1989 state 'as may be necessary to prevent danger, all systmes shall be maintained so as to prevent, so far as is reasonably practicable, such danger'.

The course is designed to train those that are responsible for Managing and scheduling of PAT testing, as well as the actual paractical application of portable appliance tests, which includes visual inspections and instrument tests.

There are no pre entry qualifiaction required for this course however, you should have some knowledge of basic electrical theory and principles together with an understanding of current electrical definitions and terminologies.
