MotorAid Ltd (formerly MercAid Ltd) was set-up in Basildon, 12 years ago, with the focus of our business being the service and maintenance of Mercedes Benz commercial vehicles. We now service and maintain most makes and have over 3000 customers.

Our fully equipped workshops and trained technicians are the backbone of our business, and our 0.8 acre site is owned by our holding company The Aid Group Ltd. In all we have 33 staff working for our organisation and we are accredited with the “Investors in People” award.

MotorAid Ltd Cars

In April 2004 MercAid Cars Ltd was set-up to service and maintain the marque based in . Since October 2005, a second Mercedes Benz branch was opened in Hainault, Essex. We have since added Audi, BMW and all other makes at separate locations, to our portfolio.

Company Overview

Our story so far...

In 1996, long term colleagues Steve Abbs and Stuart Gemmell created MercAid. Both came from a Mercedes Benz main dealer background where over many years they built up a wealth of knowledge and experience.

They started with a mobile operation, but soon after it became clear that in order to realise the full potential of their idea it would be wise to set up a small garage so they could build a stronger customer base. The idea was a success, and in 1999 they had to move into bigger premises, at the same taking on four more highly skilled technicians.

In 2004 the new concept of MercAid Cars was on the horizon, a site specialising in the servicing and maintenance of Mercedes Cars. As a long term associate of both Steve and Stuart, co-Director Simon Croft was brought in as they believed his commitment and dedication was the key to making this new concern a success.

Early 2008 has seen the joining of the three concerns MercAid Limited, MercAid Cars and BM Aid join together under the name of MotorAid, based in their custom built head office in Harvey Close, Basildon which was completed late 2007.

Today they have two Mercedes Benz car sites in Basildon and Hainault, a BMW and all makes car site in Basildon and a Commercials garage in Basildon that cover the South Essex and areas. Not to mention a growing team of 33 hand picked people dedicated to their role.

2009 has brought with it the worst recession of our generation. Due to our basic company philosophies; delivering a friendly, reliable service and great value for money, our company still continues to grow to over 8000 customers.

Some exciting news will be announced to the press in June 2009 that will take us to the next level of growth.
