So don’t move out, move up. MezzSpace Mezzanine Floors are specifically designed and tailored to meet your needs. They can be designed, approved and fitted very rapidly, even multi-tier. Disruption is kept to a minimum, and a new business environment created whilst your business growth continues, from its existing roots. Every MezzSpace Mezzanine Floor is designed in compliance with all applicable Building Regulations and British or EC Standards and, wherever possible, should be designed as free standing. Mezzanine Floor Uses: Platforms are designed and manufactured for a variety of uses including: office space storage work areas and many more access retail plant and machinery The Steelwork Grid: is designed to suit the existing building layout and also to suit future use underneath. Loadings are determined following discussions with the customer and evaluation of goods to be stored and/or traffic on the platform Decking: various decking options are available the most common of which are: 38mm high density particle board plywood durbar plate steel sheet open steel Mezzanine Floor A variety of finishes can be offered on all of the above including Phenolic Resin coatings and lacquers on the board finishes and various paint options or galvanized on the steel products Floor Height: Almost any height of floor can be catered for within reason and the constraints of the building into which it is being installed. The most popular height is 3.0m finished floor level which allows useful headroom above and below in most standard industrial buildings. Double Deck and Triple Deck Floors: Warehouse and industrial developments Ltd has successfully completed a number of double and triple deck floors around the country. Where the building can accommodate it, this results in very economical use of existing space. Staircases and Handrails: Staircases and handrails as required for the particular application are manufactured to comply with Local Authority requirements and to suite the floor layout and customer needs. Warehouse and Industrial Developments Ltd can produce any staircase from a single flight to multi-flights to spirals. Mezzanine Floors top Specifications Typical load categories: General Office use – 3.5kN/m2 Light Industrial Storage – 5.0kN/m2 Medium Industrial Storage – 7.5kN/m2 Heavy Industrial Storage – 10kN/m2 Retail (Shop Display) – 5kN/m2 Column Spacing or Grid by design, optimum 3.25m x 3.50m up to practical maximum 12m x 8m. Headroom – no requirement but less than 2.0 metres will provide claustrophobic working conditions. Length, Width and Height to individual requirements including single, double or even triple tier platforms. Floor stiffness – for storage and general warehouse purposes, deflection of SPAN/200 is acceptable but for office accommodation we would recommend deflection should be limited to about SPAN/360 reducing the vibration and movement to the floor. Flooring/Decking – most commonly used is 38mm heavy duty particle board. Also available T & G plywood, chequer or plain steel plate and open steel mesh. Ancillaries – Staircases, handrails, kick boards, pallet safety gates, cat ladders, mid and top landing. This may change due to specification required. Building Regulation In general, Building Regulations approval is required for the installation of each Mezzanine Floor. The use of the mezzanine, if purely for storage or office accommodation, requires approval from the Local Authority. The installation whether for industrial or commercial use has to conform to current Building Regulations requirements which include the Disabled Discrimination Act and Part L2B. MezzSpace have a working relationship with Approved Inspectors and the benefit of this is a quick turn around for approvals and consistent interpretation of the regulations and can make the required application on behalf of the Client, if requested.
