Colonic hydrotherapy has been practised for thousands of years. Our professional body Association of Registered Colon Hydrotherapists (A.R.C.H.) was founded in 1987 by Dr Milo Siewert who is a doctor of medicine and a doctor of chiropractic. He single handedly revived and modernised the therapy in the UK. The colonic itself will take approximately 30-45 minutes during which time warmed, filtered water will be gently introduced via the rectum. Dr Siewert may used special massage or other techniques to stimulate the release of stored matter. At all times your modesty is preserved by the use of a gown or towel. Herbal and probiotic supplements may be recommended as part of your treatment and Dr Siewert may advise beneficial dietary and/or lifestyle changes if indicated. You might, understandably, feel a little apprehensive or nervous on your first appointment. This is quite normal and Dr Siewert will help you to feel less anxious. The benefits you will experience will help you to feel less anxious and you will soon realise that you made the right decision. When administered by an ARCH registered therapist colonic hydrotherapy is both safe and beneficial. The warm pre-filtered water is introduced at very low pressure to ensure complete safety. Dr Siewert treats according to your condition and is in control of the process with your feedback.
