Nationally recognised as specialists in the provision of sensory and physical special needs.

Langside, established in 1959, is an independent, non-maintained, day special school for up to 32 children who have a statement of SEN (special educational needs) identifying learning and physical difficulties often profound and complex with associated medical needs and sensory loss.

The school provides an holistic education in a caring yet challenging environment for children aged 2 years 6 months to 19 years of age.

Curriculums are relevant, cohesive and challenging to the social, intellectual, physical and emotional needs of each individual pupil.

Five teaching groups that roughly correspond to national curriculum key stages utilise specialist sensory resources, dedicated computer equipment, specialised curriculum access devices as well as overhead hoisting and changing facilities available in every classroom.

Working in partnership with our families and the local community through our 'open door' policy to offer out-of-school activities is a vital part of our approach.
