2012 has been a busy year at Shaw Farm. In February we rushed to install 4kw of Solar Panels before the government support scheme was changed. Luckily we made the deadline and have been very pleased with their performance. Check out the new solar panel page in the eco section of our website for details.
In 2012 we also made the decision to switch from dairy to beef production and have started to sell off the milking cows. Its a shame we are having to do this, and is mainly due to the low price we receive for the milk. However we are looking forward to the new challenge of rearing beef animals and there will still be plenty to see and do on the farm. We expect to sell the last dairy cows around May or June and the milking parlour will then be switched off for the last time.
Our Static Caravan accommodation at Shaw Farm continues to do well with lots of bookings being taken for 2013. The school holidays are booking up fast so if your thinking of getting away during this time please get in touch.
Look forward to seeing you in 2013 and here's hoping for some better summer weather!
