We aim to create at least 20 full, part time and seasonal jobs as well as provide a college base in Whitehaven, which has been lacking for years-The project will also play a part in the tourism regeneration of the town, as the site was originally the Whitehaven Pottery in the 1700's.The SIBSONS project, alongside our existing projects will bring sustainable regeneration benefits to a wide community base. The premises were opened in December 2002 and the Lakes College eagerly established a base in the centre from which to provide a wide range of courses in computer technology, criminology, English and many other subjects.

The Pottery is a new venture for the trust. From the outset we have established tremendous links with Brontè Porcelain from Worcester who are helping the pottery with training, marketing and all commercial aspects of the pottery industry.

Brontè Porcelain's input will enable the Trust to create a thriving business enabling us to provide quality merchandise for the retail and corporate market. The Pottery will provide employment and training opportunities for the local community.
