Rock View Vets June 2012 Newsletter This month has been quite busy, we had our open day on Saturday 12th May, and we would like to thank everyone for all their help and support. The sun shone on us all (!) and a great time was had. The support we have every year is wonderful! You all turn out and put your hands in your pockets. Thank you. Our charity this year was Sally’s Cat Rescue based in St Austell. We/you all helped to raise the grand total of £400.00 so well done! Thank you to all the staff/friends and relatives. Thanks to K9 Pat and her band of followers. The Dog Show was, as always, a huge success, thank you to Barbara and her team for their help with refreshments, thank you to Mrs Hewitt and family for their help, and also thank you to Tony for his help with the BBQ. See our Website and Facebook for pictures! www.rockviewvets.com. It was good to see Alan and Pat Lodge best wishes to you both. We would like to say that we also missed Ben and his team, and would like to wish him a speedy recovery. This offer is on until 14th June 2012 We would like to make all walkers and dog walkers aware that there have been sightings of Adders on Goss Moor, they will not attack unless provoked, here at Rock View we have already had a dog in with a snake bite, if you suspect that your pet has been bitten then please contact your vet immediately, not all snakes are poisons but it is better to be safe when it comes to bites. Friday 22nd June, 6 pm, we will be holding a Client talk at the surgery; the talk will be held by two speakers Shona Moon – Dog Behaviourist and Bizzy from Bayer the subjects being ‘Spring Clean Your Pets Parasites’ and Interpreting Dogs Calming Signals and how to avoid a dog to dog confrontation. Refreshments will be available. Spaces are limited so please call the surgery to book yourself a place. Kennel Cough There is kennel cough around the area – as the holiday season arrives we always get an increase. Dogs with heart/chest problems are particularly vulnerable. Our best advice – get vaccinated! No vaccine is 100% but it will help protect your pet and make the symptoms less severe if he/she still gets it. We are still running Puppy Parties, once a week. Our Puppy Parties are the perfect place for you and your puppy to visit. They are held in our surgery in Roche. It is the perfect place to socialise your puppy, not only will this help them develop healthy social skills and to not fear the vets, we also hold talks about how to look after your puppy in their early stages. Our Puppy Parties are held every Week, with a different subject each week, so pop in and have a look, all are welcome as long as they have had their first vaccination, and there are also refreshments available for both you and your Puppy. We look forward to seeing you! Thank you to everyone for your continued support of the surgery. Fiona and the Team.
