A superb country made dresser circa 1860 on style legs. As with so many country dressers, a mix of timbers were used. The dresser is principally made of pine, with English oak back boards and oak sides to the upper glazed section. Note the misshaped back boards behind the glazed doors. The glazing looks original with the old rippled glass, some putty has been replaced. The catches are later and probably replaced 1910 – 1925. Some old worm damage is evident which has been treated as a precaution. The base to the inner cupboard has been replaced. Drawers glide easily in their recesses. A stunning dresser which would grace any country kitchen or living room. Width of work top 52 ½” Width of cornice 54 3/8” Depth 19 ¼” Height to work top 33 3/8” Overall height 80 ½”
