The Shiatsu practitioner at Hartlepool Wellbeing Centre is Brendan Clarke.

Shiatsu is a bodywork therapy from Japan. Shiatsu integrates techniques from Eastern and Western therapies to treat people on an energetic and physical level. A Shiatsu session can reduce stress, rejuvenate the body and reduce or even eliminate chronic muscular pain.

During a Shiatsu session the client remains fully clothed and rests comfortably on a specially designed chair or low level massage table. The Shiatsu practioner applies comfortable pressure with thumbs, fingers, elbows and knees to stimulate and balance the energy channels (meridians) in the client's body. Treatment can also include stretches, joint rotations and targeted exercises designed to improve movement, change posture and address the causes of persistent muscle pain.
