T.Q. PLASTERING - OUR - SERVICE'S
TRADITIONAL WET PLASTER
Wet plaster is preferred by masonry lovers,
wet plaster uses either cement or gypsum backing's troweled onto blockwork. there is little to choose between gypsum and cement backing's in terms of cost's and both are finished of with a two coat, skim of gypsum thistle.
Rendering refer's to the application of cement to internal/external and/or internal brickwork or concrete walls in order to achieve a smooth or deliberately textured finished surface. Also called cement rendering or solid plastering. rendering can improve the aesthetic's, water proofing and fire rating of a building.
Damp proofing woks as a long term prevention to moisture decay, when it comes to walls and foundation's.
Damp proofing prevent's moisture and water passing through into interior space's and can therefore prevent timber decay and structural damage such as dry rot, wet rot, and rising damp.
The purpose of floor screeding is to produce a true flat, level, hard-wearing surface, which has the ability to be the base for additional
coverings such as carpets, floor tiles, etc. it can also be laid over under floor heating. It is
important that the floor is level because kitchen equipment, furniture or expensive industrial equipment may be resting on the finished surface.
Partition walls also referred to as stud walls are generally used to form internal partitioning walls. They are constructed from metal or wooden frame work comprising, of vertical timber's known as stud's, supported by shorter inter nailed timber's referred to as noggin's partitioned wall's are not strong enough to carry structural load's. The timber frame provides a basic structure onto which sheet's of plasterboard are fixed
DRY LINING BY DIRECT BOND (Dot & Dab)
Dry lining by direct bond is a system that is classed as a dry method of producing a flat wall surface and is used mainly in the new housing market. it involves securing sheets of plasterboard directly to the background surface, leaving a air space between the plasterboard and the background, this system will produce a much warmer house than solid traditional wet plaster method's, because plasterboard is a better insulator than solid plaster , and the air gap forms an extra insulation layer. it's speed of construction makes it ideal for a quick house building and the drying out time is a lot less than for solid plaster.
