PR Designs, based in the North West of England, provide a range of services that cover mechanical design, product design and industrial design to a wide range of clients. From an initial meeting with the client we provide a specification sheet laying out the project objectives, time scales and estimated costs. Work commences as agreed and regular feedback is provided to keep the client informed of progress and any problems that may be encountered. The use of MS Office products to track project progress and to communicate electronic 3D visualisations is used. Once the client is satisfied, a full set of 2D engineering drawings to BS308 are compiled, along with any relevant technical documentation to enable purchase of specified OEM products.   Designs are created with the all important cost element in mind, along with design for manufacture and design for assembly whilst trying to maintain a pleasing aesthetic appeal. All modifications are backed up with detailed change sheets to provide product history. Prototypes of the products can be arranged and their progress monitored and where required, final suppliers can be suggested. The use of value analysis and value engineering techniques can be performed on current products to determine best suited methods of manufacture and/or materials.   Our client base is varied, from SME’s to multi-million pound companies. Some of our clients trade in areas such as architectural ironmongery, commercial vehicle security, commercial building security, architectural washroom equipment, vision inspection systems, health care products and leisure products.   The type of design work undertaken is varied and the content of products may include a variety of the following processes; injection moulding, RIM moulding, rotational moulding, sheet metal fabrication, turning/milling/general engineering, aluminium and plastic extrusion, die and sand casting, vacuum forming. These are just some of the processes that have been used over the years to solve product design problems.
