Following Leisure’s recent warning about their models with gas grills, UK brand Belling have drawn attention to a similar issue affecting gas grills. These particular Belling models are manufactured at the same Turkish factory as Leisure’s, and the UK-produced Kensington and other models are NOT affected.

The gas grill on the relevant appliances are designed to be used with the grill door fully open. It has come to Belling’s attention that IF THE GRILL DOOR IS CLOSED WITH THE GRILL BURNER LIT, DANGEROUS LEVELS OF CARBON MONOXIDE CAN BE PRODUCED.

N.B. The below products are perfectly safe to use if they are operated in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.

Belling G755:White (50531081) & Anthracite (50531082)
Belling GT755:White (444449050)

Belling Country Chef 100G:Anthracite (444445946) & Silver(444445945)

Free Modification
Belling are in the process of contacting customers who have bought one of the above products to arrange for an engineer to carry out a small modification to the grill door, which will prevent such toxic fumes being created should the grill door be closed, in error, when the grill burner is in use.

In the meantime;
DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, OPERATE THE GRILL UNLESS THE GRILL DOOR IS FULLY OPEN.

Safety Inspection
If you own any of the Belling gas products with serial numbers beginning with 07 or 08, please email your contact details, product code number and serial number to [email protected], so that they can arrange for one of their engineers to carry out a safety inspection and carry out any modifications required. The serial number can be found on the data plate at the bottom front edge of the appliance.
