Course Description
Emergency First Aid at Work is designed for people requiring First Aider status within the workplace in accordance with the HSE.

Who is suitable for this course?
This 1 day course is ideal for those companies with low/medium incident risk.

What will you learn?

Students will be able to update and refresh existing knowledge and will gain sound theoretical and practical knowledge of first aid.  Students will be able to take charge in situations where someone falls ills or is injured, calling for an ambulance if required and looking after the first aid box.

Course Content

First Aid at Work Regulations & Rules

Fears of First Aid, Barriers & Initial Assessment

Unconscious Casualty, Breathing & Recovery Position

The Heart, Sudden Cardiac Arrest and CPR.  Includes 1 rescuer CPR, chest only compressions and CPR handover to a second rescuer

Adult Choking, Conscious & Unconscious

Serious Bleeding Management


Spinal Injury Management

Burns & Scalds

Anaphylatic Shock & Allergies

Seizures & Epilepsy

Assessment and Certification

Certification is dependant on successful continuous assessment of the student.  Participants will recieve the HSE approved Emergency First Aid at Work certificate, which is valid for 3 years.  Annual refreshers are recommended.
