Contingency Today is a web-based magazine and the only publication, online or print, dedicated to the challenges and opportunities of Critical National Infrastructure protection. Its readership includes policy-makers, decision-influencers and middle management implementers engaged in emergency planning, disaster recovery and infrastructure protection.

Critical National Infrastructure can be defined as those assets, services or systems which, if destroyed or damaged, threaten the social or economic well-being of the nation, including by the infliction of mass casualties.  Our target readers are those who have the policy, budgetary and operational responsibilities for the protection of key components of this infrastructure, including computer and communications systems, transport services, health facilities, utility networks, industrial plant and financial networks.

Contingency Today covers all significant threats to the Critical National Infrastructure, including electronic attack and the sophisticated misuse of computer systems; physical attacks by terrorist organisations and other criminals; the effects of climate change; and other natural disasters, including pandemics, fire and flood.
