Durham Constabulary – addressing the challenge: Durham Constabulary was in the process of huge and unprecedented change. Following major cost-cutting and redundancy programmes, the entire organisation needed to be reorganised. To enable the force to flourish and provide an improved and modern service, managers required training to enable them to provide transformational leadership in a fast changing environment, and embed the skills necessary to utilise a range of problem solving tools and management techniques to deliver quality performance and service. Pearlcatchers were selected from over 250 proposals because of our innovative approach and proven results in motivational, coaching and influencing techniques. The Pearlcatchers Solution: Pearlcatchers delivered a six-part ‘Altogether Different’ programme to re-energise the organisation, prepare managers for leading and embracing change and encourage and embed new and innovative ways of thinking and working. To complement this change management process, Pearlcatchers initiated ‘Action Learning Sets’ to focus on a series of specific improvement initiatives based on feedback from the initial launch event and Audit forum. This led to Project Me, run in partnership with the National Police Improvement Agency to maximise the effectiveness of their online 360 degree feedback process.
