At Meadowbrook we believe that the foundation of a good education fosters a love of learning and the ability to adapt to change. Our Pre-Primary children learn valuable concentration skills, a sense of responsibility for their work and behaviour, independence, a strong work ethic and excellent communication skills. From the time the child enters our community, lessons are introduced simply and concretely in the early years and are reintroduced several times during the following years at increasing degrees of abstraction and complexity. Although we offer a warm and supportive academic atmosphere, we set a high level of expectation for the quality of thought, work, and the mastery of content and skills. Children are actively involved in discussion and investigation. Visitors to the school and outings to places of educational interest are used to support the schools varied curriculum. At the Pre-Primary level our Montessori curriculum also takes into account the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework. Children are eligible to attend our pre-primary department the term they turn 3 years old. Younger children of 2½ years old (including those graduating from our parent and toddler groups) may attend morning classes depending on their readiness. Children who turn 4 within the academic year can join Reception class in the autumn term (9.00 am – 3.15 pm daily). For full details, please visit our website
