Recession period has widely affected UK economy negatively since 2008. Weak economic situation has adversely affected mortgage loans and personal lending business. Past records show that several home owners have lost their houses due to failure in repayments. But recent records are showing some different figure about mortgage lending and loan business.

According to recent figures, fewer homes were repossessed by lenders during second quarter of this year. The change in home property repossession figure suggest that now home equity borrowers are more concern about their payments. They are taking active steps to avoid missing or late payments of mortgage borrowings.

New reports released from the Council of Mortgage Lenders (CML) have revealed recent figures on mortgage borrowers and number of houses repossessed in these years. The figure shows that the number of repossessed home reduced from 9600 as recorded in first quarter of the year to 8500 during second quarter of the year, April, May and June. It comes at lowest level since 2010. CML’s has also released figures for total repossessions in this year and that is recorded at 45000. The organization has admitted that it could be much lower as just 18,100 repossessions are recorded in later months of the year.

Paul Smee, director general at CML has said that the figures are suggesting about together work of lenders, borrowers and debt advisors in order to get an easy solution in current economic difficulties. It is working to keep a check over mortgage possessions.

In general situations when borrowers give more importance to mortgage commitments, lenders can help them in appropriate manner according to their personal circumstances. Any mortgage repayment plan or debt consolidation with recommendations can be completed successfully if everyone offers possible help towards the plan. Anyone worrying about their mortgage payments should contact their lenders immediately to find appropriate solution acceptable for both parties.
