Ping G20 Irons are tons easier to hit
I find the g20 irons a big improvement if you like long, straight ,and high, with great feedback. I was playing the Ping Anser Forged Irons with graphite shafts. The g20 irons are a big step forward. The feel and sound of the club is not quite to the forged iron level but is quite good. For my game it was the best.
On the strength of tour players’ enthusiasm for the new G20 family and Anser Milled putters, PING introduces several new products that build on the company’s reputation for performance, innovation and fitting. The Ping G20 Irons is engineered for extreme forgiveness and predictable distance control. The Ping G20 Irons hit the ball long with forgiveness and distance control. Extreme perimeter weighting in the deep, multi-cavity design makes the 17-4 stainless steel heads highly forgiving.A multi-material cavity badge made with soft elastomer heel and toe sections improves feel and sound.
Combined with PING’s new CFS steel shaft, the G20 optimizes feel and trajectories. The hosel-to-head transition and clean appearance of the G20's inspire confidence at address that the ball will launch clean and easy from any lie on the course. Consistent yardage gapping is a key benefit of the G20 set, which includes high-launching long irons that maximize the overall range and predictability of a player's set.
Ping G20 Irons features a new Custom Tuning Port which expands perimeter weighting and increases MOI. The thinner face of the g20 Iron helps position weight to the toe for added forgiveness. The wider sole provides a higher launch angle. Strong lofts and a low center of gravity produce long shots with a high trajectory and maximum forgiveness. The G20 iron set is very similar to the G15's, with a slightly wider sole. The cavity of these irons features a very similar look to the G15's but with a new soft layer on the back to help with sound, feel and vibrations. The steel shafts also look new, with more evenly spaced steps than the traditional AWT shafts, with a unique and interesting feel.
The G20 is a reliable follow-up to the Ping G15 Irons. Ping has taken its classic game-improvement look and tweaked it in just the right places. The upgrade is so good that even G15 users might consider changing.Among improvements to Ping’s hallmark iron line are a thin face to increase ball speed and a multimaterial cavity badge that features soft elastomer in the heel and toe areas to improve feel and sound.
Overall,If you’re in the market for your first set of new irons, or perhaps are looking for a set that will help move your handicap down from the 20s and into the teens, then the PING G20 is absolutely one you need to be looking at.What has amazed me is the way the club lies when teeing up. The solid feel and great swing weight make you feel confident in them.
