Mizuno sets price for JPX825 irons
Mizuno has revealed more details about its second generation line of Mizuno JPX825 irons and woods of which we offered a sneak peek.
Alongside the elegant new JPX825 irons are the JPX825 Pro models, currently in the bag of Charles Howell III, Ignacio Garrido and LPGA Tour front-runner Stacy Lewis.
The JPX825s, says Mizuno, pack both extreme ball speed and a high level of forgiveness with a profile that never becomes too bulky or overly offset.
In the longer irons (4- to 7-) there’s a pocket cavity design with a thin, responsive ‘hot face’ for high speed, soft landing flights. From 8-iron to pitching wedge they’re more compact for greater feel and precision.
Mizuno adds that its Harmonic Impact Technology (HIT) ensures enough feedback to keep the ball striker informed without being punished from off centre strikes.
“Without feel or feedback you can’t learn anything about your ball striking,” says head of R&D Tetsu Kanayama. “Feel is the best teaching aid there is.”
