Vehicle Access Systems Ltd
With sites or part of sites where it is impractical, (due to geographical restrictions), to run mains cabling, or when the requirement of automation is not required, manual barriers can offer a simple yet practical alternative, in controlling vehicular movement. Manual barriers predominately play a role in manned security checkpoint situations such as building sites.
Each barrier is individually counterweighted to suit up to a 6.5 metre clear width opening capability and can be lockable in both the raised and lowered positions. All barrier arms over 5 metres are fitted with a galvanised straining wire kit.
All framework is constructed from heavy duty steel box section and galvanised to BS EN ISO 1461, whilst the arms are manufactured from an extruded aluminium section and painted with a white polyester powder coating. Red Fascal strips are applied to either side of the arm for improved visibility.
Can be fitted with under-slung skirts (curtains)
‘STOP’ & ‘NO ENTRY’ signs can be fitted to the barrier arm
A spring-loaded arm support (pogo stick) can be attached for restricted road widths
A floor mounted spring-loaded post (end steady), is recommended to provide additional tip support on long barrier arms
