What is CBT & Mindfulness CBT aims to facilitate individuals to become experts on themselves and their problems experienced. It is a collaborative therapy. Assisted by the therapeutic relationship it encourages the individual to enquire, search and discover new ways of responding to the diffeent blocks and dilemmas in life. CBT enables the individual to examine the meaning, values and interpretations given to situations & circumstance. It works with negative thoughts, assumptions (conditional), core beliefs and schemas and illustatrates how these can be attributed to self. It entails putting words to thought and identifies maintaining cycles with the use of patterns and imagery. Complementing this approach is the aspect of Mindfulness.
