LHR Marine are toasting the success of their recent Golf Outing and Evening Function; held during Offshore Europe 2011 week in Aberdeen. Both events were well attended and were enjoyed by friends, clients, suppliers and staff of LHR Marine.
It all kicked off on the Tuesday night with an evening function held at the new Park Inn by Radisson on Justice Mill Lane. The night began with a stand up set from popular Scottish comedian Graham Mackie. A selection of foods from around the world and a buffet of traditional Scottish favourites such as Haggis were then served up. A raffle was then held with prizes kindly donated by LHR Marine suppliers Feuerstein, Capital Safety and Billy Pugh. Local band “The Bash Street Kids” finished the night off in style with a rousing and entertaining set of old classics and modern anthems.
The Golf outing was held at Meldrum House Golf Club all day on the Thursday. The course was in excellent condition and was aided by a beautiful Aberdeenshire day. The popular Texas Scramble Tournament format was contested by teams of three golfers. Overall winners on the day were Martin Lawrence, Scott Cameron and Alistair Tong with a net score of 58.4. Runners up were Kevin Morrison, Ian Cowieson and Geoff Davidson with a net score of 59.1. Third place went to the team of Colin Lyon, Jake Hay and John Wood with a net score of 61. Martin Lawrence won the longest drive competition at the 5th Hole and Scott Cameron won the closest to the pin competition at the 18th. There were also spectacular prizes – including a Jaguar XF from Stratstone Aberdeen – on offer by scoring a hole in one at selected holes, but unfortunately there were no aces on show.
