While completing his degree in Graphic Design and Visual Communication in the 1980's, Andy made the decision to specialise in copywriting. Having heard, incorrectly, that writers earned more than designers.
His writing career started at Axon Garside Stockport, moving swiftly to McCann Erickson Manchester, Charles Wall Leeds and Publicis Manchester at which point he decided to go freelance. In the ensuing years he has worked for such agencies as Yellow M , RB and The Artworks Consortium in Newcastle upon Tyne and Tucker, Clarke-Williams, PDP Momentum and Creative Vein in Manchester.
Clients he's worked with include Kwik Save, Mintex Don, GMPTE, WYPTE, Mecca, Nestle/Nescafe, Grattan, Manchester Airport, JD Williams, Renault. and many, many more. Such a diversity of jobs has obviously called for a diversity of skills. So Andy is equally at home producing TV and Radio ads, Direct Mail , Press and online advertising.
In all he's been getting away with it for around 25 years now. Which suggests that he's either a pretty good copywriter or, at the very least, a highly persuasive character, which can of course amount to much the same thing.
