This is usually done when the flat is being let on behalf of a corporate company. The landlord's inventory representative is responsible for compiling the inventory report and once it is typed up our clerk will go to the property and meet the other party's representative. The report is read and checked and anything that our clerk is not happy with is noted and agreed.
This process is designed to ensure that the landlord's representative has produced a report that is a true reflection of the property's condition.
Our clerk attends the property – the other party's clerk is responsible for ensuring a hard copy of the report is in place
The report is thoroughly checked against the items in the property – amendments are agreed, dated and initialed
Where possible, items are re-tested for power and utility meter readings are taken. Details of keys/fobs are handed over and noted
Declarations are then signed
Agreed notes regarding items of concern and amendments are forwarded within 24 working hours.
