Sonya Leonard's Fused Dichroic Jewellery business was established in 2004. All the pieces are unique and individually handcrafted by Sonya
Leonard in Glasgow using combinations of Art and Dichroic glass.
Dichroic glass is very special because of its
very vibrant colours and numerous textures and patterns. Each piece of jewellery
is made of at least two layers of different glasses, sometimes up to four
layers. Every piece is fired at least once, sometimes up to four times, to get a
durable. smooth. glossy surface.
Sonya makes pendants,
bangles, bracelets,
earrings, rings and
cufflinks. Most fittings are Sterling
Silver but bangles, bracelets and cufflinks are plated silver. All
chains are Sterling Silver. Sonya also makes 'chains' of leather, suede and
various ribbons all with Sterling Silver fittings. Sonya will take
commissions and make pieces in different colours and
sizes by request.
