Hypnotherapy is quite simply a treatment that uses a variety of therapeutic techniques whilst you are in a hypnotic state to help you make the changes you want.
The hypnotic state is a naturally occurring one. There are many altered states you go into every day that are reminiscent of the state of hypnosis you experience during a hypnotherapy session. Most people describe their experience of hypnosis as one where their body feels deeply relaxed yet their mind is alert. We use hypnosis because when you are relaxed and focused in this way, you can more easily access your own ability to make the changes you want with my guidance. You are always in control when you are hypnotised.
The purpose of hypnotherapy is for you to experience more freedom in your life. Whether that means breaking a habit, changing a behaviour that no longer benefits you or changing your view of yourself.
My initial consultation is free and without obligation. I use this time to gain the information I need to determine a treatment plan for you. It is also an opportunity for you to ask as many questions as you need.
It is important to know that with the exception of stopping smoking, most conditions require more than 1 session.
