Thread veins appear due to many reasons such as sun burn, wind damage, medication, or trauma, and the damage may have been caused years ago and only appear as we age. They can be removed using laser, which works on a specific light wavelength picking up the pigment in the blood vessels. The thread veins fade 6 - 8 weeks after treatment, and 2 or 3 treatments may be required depending on the extent of the thread veins and the healing properties of each individual.
