Local musician, Sekou Kompo, is now teaching two regular African Drumming classes at venues in Kelsall and Chester. Sekou who is originally from Guinea Conakry, West Africa has performed all over the world with prestigious companies such as: Tamala Africa Drum and Dance Company, Fatala Dance Group and Batafon. He was recently seen performing at a charity event in Chester at Fiesta Havana supporting the 3 World Hope Charity and is delighted to be teaching classes in the North West.
Sekou said, “I have always had a love and passion for music being, as I was, born into a family of Griots. My journey started at the age of 5 years when my father, who is a drummer and dancer himself, first introduced me to playing a djembe drum.
