There is often some confusion surrounding resolution and print size. In fact its a fairly easy formula. If you have a 5 megapixel camera it will produce a file with dimensions in the region of 2592 pixels by 1994 pixels(2592x1994=5.2 million pixels).
With the print output in your image editing software set to 300dpi (an accepted number for photo quality prints) you willproduce a print 2592/300=8.64ins x 1994/300 = 6.4ins.
In actual fact you will probably get away with printing at a lower resoloution, such as 240 or even 200dpi if you want bigger prints, but the lower the print dpi the more the print will degrade.
However don't you worry about all that, leave it to us. We will have a look at your photograph and tell you if the quality is good enough to blow up.
